A new version of the JET controller (revision F) has just been released.

Compared to the previous version (rev. E), the JET revision F has the added following features:

Improved visibility for the leds of the relays
The 4 relay LEDs have been moved to the outer side of the connectors, so that they are visible even when an EXT-84 board (or any other extension board) is mounted on the circuit.

Easier installation with the integrated End of the Line Resistor
A new Mini Jumper JP3 labeled “E.O.L.R” (End Of Line Resistor) has been added. Client can put a Jumper on it when the controller is located at the end of the RS485 chain, instead of adding an external 120 ohm resistor at the end of the RS485 line bus.

Increased cardholders capacity
The Jet is now available with an option for a 4MB RAM (with special firmware) allowing for half a million cardholders.
Three models of the JET are available: 512 KB (up to 44.000 badges), 2MB (up to 225.000 badges) and 4MB (up to 483.000 badges)

Boosted protection with the 2nd thermal fuse
A 2nd resettable thermal protection fuse has been added for the card readers. With 2 fuses, the current available for each 2 readers is 300mA, allowing up to 600mA for all 4 readers. Also, since one fuse is for the Reader 1 & 2 and the other for the Reader 3 & 4, if one of the fuses has blown due to a short circuit, two readers will still be operational.

More updates of the board
To reflect the current requirements, the output voltage for card readers is 12 VDC only and the main communication port J9 is for the RS485 bus only.

Ensuring continuity
The other parameters and dimensions of the board stay unchanged, with the same holes for installations, ensuring continuity.
